Late yesterday, the Hong Kong Patent Office granted Apple 15 design patents which are divided into three distinct groups. The first covers Apple’s MagSafe charger, the second covers Beat’s Flex-All-Day headphones, and the third covers a series of 10 models covering iOS 14 GUIs with widgets.
Unlike “patent applications” which provide the public with a summary, summary and details of an invention, design patents published worldwide are limited to providing the public only with design patent numbers. No additional design specifics are available.
2 design patents for the MagSafe charger
Apple was granted two design patents in Hong Kong for “MagSafe Charger” which were filed under Locarno Classification 13-02 covering “Power Transformers, Batteries, Rectifiers”.
3 design patents for “Beats” headphones
Apple has been granted three design patents in Hong Kong for “headphones” that represent “Beat’s Flex-All-Day” headphones. The design patents have all been filed under the Locarno 14-01 classification covering “Sound Reproducing Equipment”.
10 Design Patents for iOS 14 GUIs with Widgets
Apple has been awarded a series of design patents in Hong Kong for iOS 14 graphical user interfaces with widgets. Some are full color, some are black and white, and some are simple line art. The design patents were all filed under Locarno Classification 14-04 covering “screen displays and icons”.
