On January 2, Patently Apple released an intellectual property report titled “Apple Won 5 Design Patents Presented as Photos and Line Art Covering iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard Combo.” On Friday, the Hong Kong Patent Office granted Apple 14 design patents covering Apple’s “Magic Keyboard” and 2 more for the iPad connected to the Magic Keyboard covered in more than 100 images. This week, the US Patent and Trademark Office released two key Apple trademarks. The first was for the design mark “Designed by Apple in California”, which was also released in Hong Kong in November 2020. The second US mark released was for the registered trademark (RTM) for “macOS Big Sur”.
Apple’s trademark application for “Designed by Apple in California” was filed under International Class 009 covering “Computer software for software development”.
Apple’s trademark for macOS Big Sur was filed under International Class 009 covering “downloadable computer operating software”.
